Bobby is a 13 year old boy who is being raised by a single mom. Bobby loves his mother very much however on his 13th birthday his whole world changes for the worse. Bobby's mom collapsed on the floor at his birthday party. Bobby finds out his mother has a mass on her kidney, Bobby doesn't understand why his mother is sick with cancer he is all upset about it. He feels like no one is going to help his mom or him. He is so scared about this all he isn't sure what to think about it all.
Bobby found out he could be tested for a kidney for his mom however she told him she would rather wait till they found a different match as she doesn't want to put Bobby through all that. Bobby wonders is there a God will his mom die. A friend Tony is there to help Bobby through this as he is so scared. He cares about Bobby and his mom she teaches Bobby the stuff a dad would teach his son such as baseball and more. So while Bobby's mom is in the hospital Bobby will stay with Tony. Bobby also finds out his mother's cancer is spreading faster than doctors thought. If Bobby's mom dies he will have no one he feels as most of the family is dead and his only uncle Johnny is MIA.
Both Bobby and Tony are going to be tested to see if they are a match for Bobby's mom. Will Bobby be a match or will Tony? Will either be a match? When they find out neither are a match the doctor put Bobby's mom on a waiting list but there are 5 people ahead of her. Will she get the kidney soon enough to save her or will it not come fast enough?
While Bobby is at Tony's while Bobby's mom is in the hospital, Bobby runs away. He is scared while on his trip he wants to help his mom anyway he can. Will this be the worse idea Bobby had or will he be able to get help for his mom just in time. Where will Bobby runaway to? While on his trip Bobby finds a young girl named Annie she take Bobby to a church where she has some people she knows. One is a nurse named Donna. Will Donna be able to help Bobby help his mom?
Can they save Bobby's mom? Will Bobby learn to trust God? Are you ready to take a trip down faith and trust road.
You will learn that bad things happen but something good always happens to turn it around. You will fall in love with little Bobby you will want to hug him and tell him it going to be ok. You will cry laugh and cheer in this book. Very well written I love it. I would for sure give it 5 out of 5.

When 13 year old Bobby finds out that his mother, who is the center of his world, has cancer in both of her kidneys, his world crumbles. He runs away in search of a way to save his beloved mother. On his journey, he meets teen runaway, Annie. Together they go on a journey, not only to save his mother, but a journey that could change them forever. Upon the return home, their will be unexpected developements, but are they good or bad? This book is sad, informative, uplifting, spiritual, & I really liked it. Bobby & Annie's characters are so well developed and you really begin to care for them and are rooting for them. This book is a very spiritual book, but even non religious readers should be able to read this and appreciate the wonderful story.
I enjoyed Saving Bobby. The story makes you want to believe that there are good people in the world today.
Bobby embarks on a journey to save his mom, who is dying of cancer. As he goes on his journey, he meets a girl, Annie, who seems to know ALOT about people. Bobby meets some very special people while he is trying to save his mom.
Tony is a man in Bobby's life that has also told him about God and to pray to Him. His uncle is in the military who is MIA. When he comes back home from trying to save his mom, Bobby learns something about Tony... Will it make the relationship stronger or does it destroy it? He also gets a big surprise that is waiting for him...
Will his mom be saved? Will his uncle be found?
This book is about faith and turning to God in the midst of trials.
The story was very heart-warming about the closeness of a 13-year-old boy and his mother who was raising him after the father deserted them. They were very happy until one day the mother became quite ill with cancer of the kidneys. While his mother was in the hospital waiting for a kidney donor or a miracle of some sort for a cure, Bobby ran away from home to seek a doctor who could help or get a donor. As great as the story was with Bobby meeting a girl about his age and the adventures they encountered seeking help, I almost deleted the book from my before finishing it. There were so many typographical errors all throughout the story, it became difficult to read. The only thing that kept me reading to the end was I just knew it had to be a good ending and I wanted to see how it came about. Like I said this is a great little story but definitely needs a better proof-reader...maybe because my own work had been that of proof-reading medical transcripts at one time.
This book is about a 13 year old boy and his journey to save to one thing that is most precious to him, but much, much more! I have to admit, this book isn't my normal genre, but came highly recommended by several people. Since I value their opinion, I decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did! It took me longer to read this book than it usually takes for me. Why? Well, I didn't want to put it down, but had to several times due to being in tears and couldn't read the words. I found myself having to stop various times, sometimes for hours, just to pull myself together and sort out my emotions. This book will truly make you think about you own life and the ones in it. It will send you on an emotional roller coaster. I found myself crying because I was happy, sad, and just because. The author truly has a way with reaching out and touching your soul. I highly recommend this book to everyone, no matter your reading genre, or your beliefs. BE PREPARED It is a tear jerker, will make you look at life in a whole new way, and may stick with you forever!!!
